you need to prepare a center/axis drawing for your steel structure. that is all. it will ask you the size of the channel steel choice. Thanks to Preetam – our lovely structure engineer of the team, who shows me patiently with all the properties/terms of a typical channel.
be aware that the code is very sensitive about the vertical channels – DO make sure the vertical line is a “true” vertical, i mean x=x’, y=y’, not just look like vertical. if you are not sure, just don’t use the “smart rotation” and try adjusting the roation later on. if the channel is leaning ,there is no problem since the relation is very obvious.
it also provides the option of standing or lying channels.
the code will generate a set of profile of the steel section @ world origin with a textdot.
