Detroit[D]rift:    The industry giant Detroit has brought in the American era of modern culture. As the city dilapidates under recession, there is a strong call for creative energy to bring the city back to live. We try to revitalize the city through remodeling the numerous abandoned factories in Detroit. By redefining the programs of factories, Detroit's industrial fabric will change fundamentally. It is a revolution from inside out. The post-recession urban life thus emerges with a new Art Deco aesthetics. 

    Exhibition, fashion runway, performance space, restaurant, along with the heat and smell of the city, are mixed into the body of the industry city.

    Digital process is used extensively in the design. The design element "fins" is parametrically controlled. The shift and turn of the "fins" redefines privacy, visibility and function of the space, in the architecture language derived from auto manufacturing. 

    The spaces formed by "fins" are flexible and adaptable to various factory types. The interior construct is parametrically measured against the parameters of the factors. 

    As the most common material within auto industry, steel sheets are reshaped in highly optimized  digital processes, swapping across the city, brings a digital tornado to Detroit.
